Bilqees Sarwar Foundation (BSF) sponsored “Salute to Life Savers” an event organized by Blood Donor Society UCP held at University of Central Punjab (UCP) Lahore. During this event, students organized a one-day activity to address the cause of saving lives by donating a bottle of blood. BSF conducted an awareness campaign for the students of UCP about the responsibility of contributing back to society. Team BSF briefly described the initiatives of BSF in the sectors of healthcare, education and humanitarian response to the students and the services offered at Bilqees Sarwar Hospital.

 

UCP students donates to BSF charity

According to research conducted by Blood Donation Foundation, it is stated that in every two seconds, someone in Pakistan needs blood. More than 41,000 bottles of blood donations are required every day and 1 bottle of blood can save up to three lives. Blood donor society at UCP takes an initiative to educate the students by conducting awareness sessions in collaboration with BSF to deliver the message of helping the patients.

More than 600 students and faculty members from various renowned institutions visited BSF information desk with an interest to know about the initiatives of BSF in the healthcare, education and humanitarian development sectors. In addition, BSF offered UCP with all the medical facilities available at Bilqees Sarwar Hospital on highly subsidized rates to strengthen the ties with UCP and its management. We wholeheartedly appreciate the services of volunteers from UCP for supporting us in making this awareness campaign successful.
